The Australian Badminton Open Superseries draw is out and you couldn't ask for more.
Defending champion and world #2 Lin Dan of China has a 6'5" tall order on his hands with Denmark's world #9 and India Superseries runner-up Viktor Axelsen.
Such is the current standard of men's singles world badminton, that two Superseries finalists this year can meet in Round 1 - Axelsen is the India SS runner-up and Lin became Malaysia SS runner-up the following weekend.
Why worry about crowds for Finals Sunday? Prepare your scorched almonds, take Wednesday off work, and sit anywhere for Round 1 action of equal calibre between the reigning World Champions Ko/Shin from Korea and 2013 World Champions who also happen to be recent Malaysia SS Premier winners Ahsan/Setiawan of Indonesia.
Who's classier? Find out when the Australian Open 2013 and 2014 women's singles runners-up Nichaon Jindapon of Thailand and Spaniard Carolina Marin do battle.
1ST ON THE 1ST
Main draw Round 1 is on May 26 but the first day of action, known as qualifications, is Tuesday May 25.
Banish your presumptions that you won't see anyone famous on the opening day of action. Current world number 1s in mixed doubles, Zhao Yunlei of China, and Korea's Lee Yong Dae for men's doubles shall take to court in their "second" events of women's doubles and mixed doubles respectively.
They may not be the world number 1s in their second events but they have Olympic gold medals to show for it!
